What is a giclée print?

A giclée (zhee-KLAY) print is an archival museum grade fine art print that, with care, will last for generations.

A giclée print is made with specialized inkjet printers that use archival pigment based inks. The French word giclée was first applied to this technology by Jack Duganne, a California artist and photographer who wanted to distinguish his prints from inexpensive inkjet prints made with dye-based inks.

Giclèe prints must be printed on archival materials such as Moab Entrada Rag (used for all of my giclée prints). This paper is a naturally acid free 100% cotton paper. It is a 290lb bleach and lignin-free paper with natural contrast and a high ink load with a beautiful smooth surface. The end product is the highest quality, yummiest print.
